Why are merchants seeing that we need edit or write access to their platform?

For many OAuth experiences, platforms (e.g. Shopify) will support specifying very granular permissions, for example read access to transactions or write access to products. However, many platforms do not have as much support. For example WooCommerce only allows selecting generic read/write permissions across all objects, and Amazon does not allow you to specify read only permissions and will always request read + write access from a merchant.
